JIA head office consists of four different departments (project management, procurement, finance, and administration), and it provides services such as personnel trainings, networking, and information sharing to the members.
Secretary General has the right to form JIA Office to execute annual plan worked out by JIA Board of Trustee. Present JIA Office is composed of 3 departments such as project, social resource, and finance. There are 3 functions in JIA Office such as training, information, and networking as membership service to support the members in each District Committee to organize work camps smoothly:
- Training: JIA Office trains core volunteer members in each District Committee to be “the trainer of new volunteer leaders”. The contents of the training is such as scientific knowledge of leprosy, history of work camp and JIA, skills to organize work camp, financial management of work camp and District Committee, etc. JIA Office also organizes exchange meetings for the volunteers in the District Committees to share experiences among the District Committees with various histories and cultures.
- Information: JIA Office setup website as the platform of work camps where the District Committees can upload the information of the work camps, and those who are interested in participate in work camp can apply on the site. JIA Office also collects and shares information among the District Committees and publish newsletters, annual reports, WeChat official account, book, etc.
- Network: As the result of JIA Office’s work on training and information, JIA Office builds up a network of volunteers beyond the Districts Committee. JIA Office also has partners (NPOs, governments, etc.) for work camps in the other countries / areas, such as Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, and United States, etc.
The most important role of JIA Office is to get along with the volunteers in each District and encourage and scold them when necessary. During the process, however, JIA Office makes evaluation for each District Committee and shows the result in Annual General Meeting to let each District Committee realize what is good/bad aspects and let them think how to improve.
